Assistant Merchandiser - Mens

We currently have vacancy at our Head Office in Leicestershire for an Assistant Merchandiser. This role will ensure timely and accurate distribution of stock from the warehouse to stores to agreed plans, whilst controlling day to day stock levels in stores.


You will need to have excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as strong excel and analytical skills

Pre-Season

Assist in providing the base information to merchandisers for the production of Range Plans and Distribution Plans
With the store merchandiser review/confirm store gradings with retail team
Assist in the maintenance and update of store capacity information

In-Season

Allocation of pre-pack and loose stock in line with the agreed range plan. On a weekly basis review store capacities and propose action where required for movement or withholding of stock
Action any requests from the merchandisers to ensure store stock levels are at satisfactory levels to meet the sales demands
Action the appropriate replenishment levels to meet the sales demands
Maintenance of ‘classic system’ stock levels
Action stock distribution plans on reduced lines as requested by the store merchandiser
Generate store transfers on fragmented best selling lines with no warehouse stock or repeats
Process all store transfers
Recall seasonal product in line with departmental plans
Regular visits to stores to assess the impact of store merchandise decisions and further understand store stock requirements
To process the stockpiling of new store ranges
Deal with ad hoc queries from stores on stock related issues
Process on a daily basis the customer ordering system
Follow up on unresponsive stores on customer orders
Deputise for the store merchandiser where relevant

Some of the duties of our Store Manager include delivering sales and conversion targets, making sure customers are a priority every day, lead by example and coach the team to deliver a service orientated culture, ensure your whole team deliver a positive atmosphere in store at all times, make your store a great place to work, achieve company KPIs, make commercial decisions about layout and product placement in your store in conjunction with your Regional Manager, review stock package regularly, continuously develop your team to ensure all are working to the required performance, implement company training programmes, ensure team members are given appropriate training and support to do their job effectively and manage wage costs within agreed targets.

Proven management experience in a retail environment is essential, an inspirational leader who can manage, lead and loves developing others, a team player, approachable, confident, passionate, able to bring fresh new ideas to the table, sales driven, motivated with excellent attention to detail, excellent customer service and communication skills, able to work under pressure, flexible to work evening and weekends and also be able to take on extra hours as required.

Here at Jones Bootmaker , we are currently looking for a positive and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to support our Store Manager with all aspects of running the store and taking on the Store Managers responsibilities in their absence. We believe the role is an important one and comes with great responsibilities but also plenty of variety. One of the key aspects of the role is people management, working closely with the Store Manager and Supervisors to ensure that daily tasks in the store are carried out accurately and effectively and the team are motivated, engaged and working to the best of their ability.

Some of the duties of our Assistant Manager include making sure sales targets are met, overall performance of the store is where it needs to be, organising staff rotas, making sure staff hours are recorded so staff get paid correctly and managing a diverse group of people all with their own working styles, issues and needs, helping with recruitment and training of staff in store.
