What is a Chelsea Boot?

What is a Chelsea Boot?

Chelsea boots have been a British fashion favourite for decades. The first pair of Chelsea boots were designed by Queen Victoria’s bootmaker, Mr J Sparkes-Hall in 1837 and crafted with a vulcanized rubber sole that was invented by Charles Goodyear. Worn by the cool art set of Chelsea in the 1950s, the Chelsea boot was the ‘it’ shoe of the area and was later popularised by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Mods in the 60s.

An infinitely adaptable and undatable style, the Chelsea boot is suited for the city streets and in country settings. Decidedly classic yet delightfully practical, it’s hardest working boot for every woman’s wardrobe – even for the most adventurous of dressers.
