What does it mean?

Blake Stitch

‘A stitch in time saves nine’ a mantra that rings true to all shoe connoisseurs. The Blake stitch is one of the primary construction methods recognised for longevity and a premium quality finish, with the upper sandwiched between the insole and outsole, and subsequently stitched together before the outsole is trimmed, leaving a neat, close-cut finish.

Blake stitched shoes make a lightweight and flexible alternative to Goodyear Welted styles. Invented by Lyman Reed Blake in 1856 directly linked to the Industrial Revolution with its machine-only construction method, thus making the shoes easy to re-sole should your shoe need repairing through time.
